This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. - Psalm 34:6

You may have heard several versions of it, but the principle is the same:
A man was in trouble, in danger of drowning. He prayed to God for help.

Several aids came to him, and lastly, a helicopter, to which he replied, “No thanks, I am waiting for God.”

Finally the man drowned.

Up in heaven, he asked God why He never arrived to help him. God replied He did. He sent this man helps and lastly the helicopter to rescue him, but he neglected God’s help.

Moral of the parable:
Accept the helps God gives you. Be it counseling, therapists, friends, new opportunities, taking your medicines, going to church and participating. These are examples of your helps.

DON’T NEGLECT GETTING ON THAT RESCUE HELICOPTER!

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs

according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Psalm 121:1-3 I will lift up my eyes to the hills — From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.

PRAYER

I lift up my eyes to the hills from where my help comes.

My help comes from the Lord Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow my foot to be moved.

He Who keeps me will not slumber.

At Your word, heavenly Father,

I come boldly to the throne of grace

that I may obtain mercy and find grace to help

in time of need.

Thank You Abba Father that you supply all my needs

according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

You are my refuge and strength,

a very present help in trouble.

Therefore, I will not fear.
I call and You answer,

and save me out of all my troubles.

Thank You, heavenly Father, in Jesus name.
