THE "HELICOPTER" PARABLE

GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diq-rF-mWQI&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijytLs96yig&feature=related

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. - Psalm 34:6

You may have heard several versions of it, but the principle is the same:
A man was in trouble, in danger of drowning. He prayed to God for help.

Several aids came to him, and lastly, a helicopter, to which he replied, “No thanks, I am waiting for God.”

Finally the man drowned.

Up in heaven, he asked God why He never arrived to help him. God replied He did. He sent this man helps and lastly the helicopter to rescue him, but he neglected God’s help.

Moral of the parable:
Accept the helps God gives you. Be it counseling, therapists, friends, new opportunities, taking your medicines, going to church and participating. These are examples of your helps.

DON’T NEGLECT GETTING ON THAT RESCUE HELICOPTER!

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs

according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Psalm 121:1-3 I will lift up my eyes to the hills — From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.

PRAYER

I lift up my eyes to the hills from where my help comes.

My help comes from the Lord Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow my foot to be moved.

He Who keeps me will not slumber.

At Your word, heavenly Father,

I come boldly to the throne of grace

that I may obtain mercy and find grace to help

in time of need.

Thank You Abba Father that you supply all my needs

according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

You are my refuge and strength,

a very present help in trouble.

Therefore, I will not fear.
I call and You answer,

and save me out of all my troubles.

Thank You, heavenly Father, in Jesus name.

PRAYER

LORD, You created and formed me. You redeemed me through Your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and You called me by Your name. You have called me Your own. You have not given me a spirit of bondage again to fear, but I received the Spirit of adoption by whom I cry out, "Abba, Father."

You take care of the sparrow; how much more am I worth more than many sparrows, the Lord Jesus said. At Your Word, heavenly Father, I will not be afraid by night nor by day. You Yourself fight for me. There are more of Your angels with me than with them. I praise Your Word, I trust in You. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? You will take my right hand and save me, therefore I will be strong and not fear and endure as seeing You who is invisible. Praise God!

THINK ABOUT...

THINK ABOUT SUCH THINGS

Philippians 4

8 Finally, brothers and sisters,

whatever is T R U E,
whatever is N O B L E,
whatever is R I G H T,
whatever is P U R E,
whatever is L O V E L Y,
whatever is A D M I R A B L E

—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Col. 3:2 - Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth..

PREVENT THESE:

Rom. 8:5,7 - mind set on the flesh

Col. 2:18 - fleshly mind

2Cor. 11:3 - minds led astray from simplicity and purity to Christ

PRAY/SING OUT LOUD

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

O soul, are you weary and troubled?

No light in the darkness you see?

There’s a light for a look at the Savior,

And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in His wonderful face,

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,

In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting

He passed, and we follow Him there;

Over us sin no more hath dominion

—For more than conquerors we are!

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;

Believe Him, and all will be well:

Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation tell!

SEARCH ME, O GOD

Psalm 139

BEFORE A WORD IS ON MY TONGUE
YOU KNOW IT COMPLETELY, O LORD

1O Lord, you have searched me
and you know me.
2You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O Lord.
….
WHERE CAN I GO FROM YOUR SPIRIT?

7Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths,a you are there.
9If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

FOR DARKNESS IS AS LIGHT TO YOU

11If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE,
YOUR WORKS ARE WONDERFUL

13For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16your eyes saw my unformed body.

HOW PRECIOUS TO ME ARE YOUR THOUGHTS, O GOD!
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17How precious tob me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

SEARCH ME, O GOD, AND KNOW MY HEART
23Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

SEARCH ME, O GOD

Search me, O God,
and know my heart today,

Try me, O Savior,
know my thoughts, I pray;

See if there be some wicked way in me;

Cleanse me from every sin,
and set me free.

I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin;

Fulfill Thy word and make me pure within;

Fill me with fire, where once I burned with shame;

Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.

Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Thine;

Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine;

Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;

I now surrender, Lord, in me abide.

O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee;

Send a revival, start the work in me;

Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need;

For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.

QUIET MY MIND, LORD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqxYYj-3en0

QUIET MY MIND, Lord,
make me still before you,
Calm my restless heart,
Lord, make me more like You.

Quiet my mind,Lord,
make me still before you,
Calm my restless heart,
Lord, make me more like You.

Raise up my hands that are hanging down;
Strengthen my feeble knees.

May Your love and joy abound,
And fill me with Your peace.

Faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the Word of God.
If you believe in your heart,
and confess with your mouth,
you shall be saved.

It is important you pray AUDIBLY.

God bless you and your day.

LEARNING FROM JESUS

Jesus the Way to the Father

John 14:
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

2 Cor. 4:4 - blinded the minds of unbelieving

Rom. 12:2 - Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

2 Cor. 4:16 - Our inner man is being renewed day by day.

Eph. 4:23 - Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

Col. 3:10 - The new man is being renewed to a true knowledge...

Titus 3:5 - renewing by the Holy Spirit

Isa. 26:3 - The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace

I Cor. 2:16 - We have the mind of Christ

PRAYER:

LORD, I don’t want my mind to be blinded by the devil through unbelief.

Your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is the truth. He is the way that leads me to You that I do not get lost.

Transform and renew the spirit of my mind from the inner man, day by day. Feed me with Your true knowledge, beginning with the milk of the Word.

You said to the “little” children that believe in You that greater are You in them than he that is in the world, and in You we are more than over comers. I am like a child, teach me to grow spiritually healthy.

I don‘t want to be double-minded. I want my mind to be steadfast and to have the mind of Christ. I want to receive all You have for me. Let Your peace in me, Your joy, and Your love.

LORD, all these things, I ask in Jesus Christ name, and I thank You that I can always come to You, that You hear me, and that You will help me. Amen

I HEAR JESUS VOICE AND I FOLLOW HIM

COME TO JESUS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_4g8_e16dc
Chris Rice

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head,
for love is passing by

Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain,
so Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk Sometimes we fall...
so Fall on Jesus Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain,

then Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus Cry to
Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside,
then Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side,

and Fly to Jesus Fly to Jesus Fly to Jesus and live!

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." - John 8:12

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. - John 10:27

But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice. - John 10:5

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. - Psalm 119:105

PRAYER

I am listening to You Lord Jesus. I am of Your sheep. I recognize Your voice and I follow You. I do not follow strange voices that are not from You. At Your Word, I follow You and will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. In Jesus Christ name I pray, amen.
